How Often Should I Have My Windows Cleaned?

How Often Should You Have Your Windows Cleaned

A common question that homeowners ask us is “How often should I clean my windows?” The answer to that question varies depending on where you live in the U.S.

Here in Phoenix we have a very different climate than other parts of the country. We deal with relatively mild winters and extreme summers. The summer brings brutal heat, and the monsoon season stirs up intense winds, dust and dirt, rain, and even hail at times. The Monsoon season lasts roughly from June to late September. Our springs and falls are mild as well, but we do experience rain throughout these times.

We find the most beneficial times to clean residential windows are:

October or November

We recommend cleaning both the interior and exterior during this time. Running your air conditioner all summer leaves that terrible haze on the interior of your windows (the same haze that is difficult to get off your car windshield). The exterior is in desperate need during this time as well due to the monsoon season.

March or April

At the minimum, we recommend an exterior cleaning. Given the puppy snouts on the glass, kids fingerprints, bird dropping, and rain showers, it doesn’t hurt to clean the interior of your home at this time as well.

Are you a clean freak? If you are, then you would enjoy quarterly cleanings. This would consist of exteriors 4x a year and the interior 2x a year. By doing this, you are able to maintain your home and investment.

In conclusion, the minimum we recommend is 2x a year for exterior of your home and 1x a year for the interior. Just like a car that needs cleaned regularly, so do your windows. We are happy to help with this service!
